AI readiness scorecard

A first look at where you stand with AI.

Twelve statements, two for each area the AI Readiness Assessment scores, on the same scale. Answer each for how things are today.

Your answers stay in your browser unless you choose to send them to us.

The scale

Five levels, the same in every area.

Not sure? Choose the lower level. The assessment scores only what it can see evidence for.

1 Not in place
Nothing exists, or it exists only in someone's head.
2 Started
Some of it exists, partly or informally. It depends on particular people, and isn't written down.
3 Written down
It's documented: a policy, an inventory, a diagram, a named owner. It covers the main parts, but nothing shows that it's followed.
4 In use and checked
It's written down, it's followed, and something shows that it's checked: a review on a schedule, a log someone reads, exceptions that get caught.
5 Ready to build on
It's in use and checked, and it's enough for new AI work to start without first fixing this area.
Twelve statements

How true is each one today?

01Your data
We know where each kind of our data lives, and who owns it.
Our data can reach the tools that need it without manual exports or re-typing.
02How your systems connect
Our main systems exchange data automatically, not through people re-typing it.
We know what each vendor contract allows us, and our vendors, to do with our data.
03Rules and oversight for AI
We have written rules for which AI tools staff may use, and with what data.
For every AI tool or agent we use, a named person answers for what it does.
04AI already in use
We have a current list of every AI tool in use, including AI features in software we already buy.
We know what each AI tool in use costs us and what it's worth.
05Security and access
Every person and every tool signs in with its own identity, with multi-factor authentication, and only the access it needs.
We could show an auditor what any AI tool or agent accessed and did.
06People and capacity
A named person owns AI work, with time set aside for it, and someone covers for them.
Our team has room in the next six months to take on a new project.
